Ethan Rose on wheels! (kind of)

December 16, 2008

So first, we’re incredibly happy to be putting out the next Ethan Rose album. We’ve been huge fans of Ethan’s music for a long time now, so it’s really an honor. The album comes out January 27th and it is truly wonderful. Which leads me to my second point: Ethan’s doing a really amazing CD release show in Portland, and you should all go. Here are the details:

Strap on your skates for a special concert at the historic Oaks Park Roller Rink by Portland composer and musician Ethan Rose (2008 Time-Based Art Festival Alum) presented by Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (PICA) and Holocene. Rose’s new album entitled Oaks, uses the pipes, instruments and sound effects of the 1926 Wurlitzer Theater Organ housed within the roller rink to create an enchanting and ethereal soundscape. The evening will include live music by Ethan Rose, a set by Oak Park’s resident organ player Keith Fortune, and appearances by luminaries of Portland’s skating world, and also marks the release of the album on Holocene (USA), Baskaru (Europe), and Headz (Japan).
